Your Color Palette

What is my color palette?

Your color palette is the color season closest to your own coloring, and three taps narrow the 12 down.

Why the map shows more than one palette

  • Your answers are your own judgment. Undertone is the hardest of the three to see, and indoor light makes skin look warmer than it is.
  • Neighbouring palettes share two of their three measures, so three answers cannot separate them. The map shows what still fits, and the closest one first.
  • The photo analysis measures instead of asking, and it still names a runner-up. We publish our own accuracy test, including where it gets seasons wrong.

How this is different from other color analysis tools

  1. 01

Your photo stays on your device

Many photo apps upload your selfie and read it on their server (see our comparison). Ours measures it in your browser. There is no upload.

  2. 02

    The result is free

Your season and palette, with no account and no email. At least one app in our comparison takes payment before you see any result.

  3. 03

    A close call says so

Every result names the runner-up season and how close the call was. Borderline is a result we print.

  4. 04

    We publish our accuracy

We tuned the method on faces that experts had labelled by season, then tested it on 410 celebrity photos we collected. The results, misses included.

How the photo analysis works, step by step

Frequently asked

What is my color palette?

It is the one of 12 color seasons closest to your own coloring. Three things decide it: whether your skin is warm or cool, whether your coloring is light or deep, and whether bright or soft colors suit you. The map above narrows the 12 palettes from your answers, and the free photo analysis measures all three from a selfie.

What season color palette am I?

Start with warm or cool, because it splits the 12 seasons in half: Springs and Autumns are warm, Summers and Winters are cool. Light or deep and bright or soft then pick one of the three seasons in that family. If two palettes still fit, the photo analysis measures it, and it shows the runner-up so you can see how close the call was.

How do I find my seasonal color palette?

Four ways, from fastest to most careful: answer the three questions on the map above, take the 12-question color palette quiz, take one selfie for the free photo analysis, or book a paid in-person draping session. Daylight and a bare face matter for every method.

Is the map accurate?

It is a shortcut. It narrows 12 palettes to between 2 and 6, but it cannot pick between neighbours, because your answers are your own judgment and undertone is hard to judge by eye. That is why it shows every palette that still fits, closest first, never one alone. Our photo analysis is tested in the open on celebrity photos, with the misses shown.

Can my color palette change?

Your season comes from your natural coloring, so it stays the same for most people. A tan, dyed hair or graying hair can move which version of your palette looks best. Answer for your natural coloring in daylight.

Is it free?

Yes. The map, the quiz and the photo analysis are free, with no account and no email. The photo analysis shows your face on your best and worst palette for free. A full report with all 12 palettes on your face is paid.

What you can do on this page

This page has an interactive map of all 12 seasonal color palettes. A visitor answers up to three questions (warm or cool skin, light or deep coloring, bright or soft colors), and the palettes that do not fit turn grey, so the 12 narrow to between 2 and 6. Each palette links to its full page with hex codes. The map then shows the closest palette on an example face and offers the free photo analysis, which measures the season from one selfie in the browser, with no upload and no account.
